I joined in 1955 as an evening worker. There was a very nice supervisor there called Mrs Donovan. She was a short lady with glasses. She was popular with bosses and workers alike. She appreciated you if you were a good worker. I also remember a supervisor called Hilda. I worked with Mrs Griegsby who had two boys and who lived opposite us in Broughton Road. I left for a short time and came back after the birth of my daughter Isabel in 1957. I moved across the road into the new Sunlight Contract building, working evenings at first. I worked there for several years, mostly in the packing department, with the late Lucy Brown from Hamble Street. We became very good friends. I also worked at Peterborough Road factory for a period. I left Sunlight during the seventies to work at the New Charing Cross Hospital. Esperanza Czucha (Elsie) with her friend Lucy Brown (left) in 1985.
