I married Vic Hudson in 1971. Vic's father was Len Hudson who owned the sweet shop next to St Matthews Church. My parents Harry and June Dines worked at the sweet shop in Sullivan Court. They moved to Dorset when they left Fulham. Dad died in 1999 but my mother is still living in Dorset. My brother Ron Dines* has worked for Angel Furniture Shop in Wandsworth Bridge Road for many years. I lived at 33 Tynemouth Street between 1953 and 1962 and attended Langford Primary School with my brothers Ron and Michael. My childhood friend was Sally King. I remember taking rags to the shop in Townmead Road in exchange for 'sweet money'. We bought our sweets from Mr Keitch's shop on the corner of Tynemouth and Charlie Ockendon's shop in Stephendale Road. I trained as a nurse at the London Hospital at the same time as Norma Piper who is married to Gary Piper, the Vicar of St Matthews. Gary used to attend Dawes Road Baptist Church and that is where Vic and I met. We were married at St Matthews in 1971 by Rev Michael Botting who was assisted by his curate John Rosser. After our wedding Vic took up a job with the Deep Sea Mission in Scotland. We now live in Cambridgeshire and I work for the GP Out of Hours Service in Huntingdon. We have three grown up children and one of my son's works in IT in Formula One. *Ron Dines describes his time at the Angel Furniture Shop in the Wandsworth Bridge Road North. section.
