My father Frederick George Wills bought our house at 72 Settrington Street during the War for £850. Everybody thought he was barmy buying at that time. A bomb actually dropped behind our home in South Park but our house wasn't damaged. My mum Doris lived in Settrington Road from 1910 until 2000!

My dad worked at Fulham Power Station as a charge hand and leading stoker but suffered a 'blow back' from a turbine which virtually blinded him.

We were friends with Margaret and Jim Parish (Auntie Mags and Uncle Jim) who lived below us and used to go to Sunday tea where we had winkles, bread and butter and a chocolate eclair.

We moved to a house in Oakbury Road. The Hever estate owned quite a few properties in this area and the rents used to be paid to a Mr Page.

I was born in 1946 and had a sister called Pat. I have been married to Michael Neagle for nearly 40 years. He used to work as a gully machine operative in Warwick Road, Earls Court but was medically retired. I have worked at Angel Furniture shop in Wandsworth Bridge Road for 33 years.
