I started in the nursery at Langford School around 1945-46. We used to have an afternoon nap on the camp beds. I believe the teacher was Miss Edmunds. The Headmaster was Mr Garrard and the Head teacher was Mrs Patterson, who was quite tall and always wore her hair in a bun at the back. I can recall Miss Sly. Miss Fox and Mrs Dearlove, who was a very sweet person. My teacher for a time was Miss Sly and I remember being scared of her. She was rather strict and many of us got a slap across the back of our legs. What a thing to remember!
