It was known as the 'bug hutch', and was quite a dreadful place, looking back, but we didn't realize just how dreadful at the time. The noise from the kids was constant (even through the film) and very loud. Often, if the boys did not like the film they would get rough and damage the seats, even breaking some away from the mounting and hurling them onto the stage!!  

The children went in to see the films for 6d.
