I certainly do remember the Star cinema. We used to call it the Flea Pit. It was only a little cinema and didn`t usually get the big pictures like the Regal and Red Hall but I can remember going there with my Grandma and seeing films with the likes of Will Hay.

The place also featured in a film The Galloping Major starring Janette Scott (Thora Hird`s daughter) and Basil Radford as there was a scene filmed in that part of Wandsworth Bridge Road but if I remember correctly a different name was put on the front of the cinema. Remember watching the filming but all we saw was a horse and cart being driven down the road!
