I  remember that part of the Park opposite  Peterborough School was dug up and air raid shelters built. I can remember going there for one night, it had VERY narrow benches. I do remember a bomb dropped there at some time in the war and as far as I know it was on an open part.

I used to play rounders there when I was at school. I  remember there was a fun-fair, During the late  forties. I used to cross to go to art classes.

In the early 1990s my husband Alan and I took our two great grandaughters to the swings and slides.
